Black Pepper Syrup Sauce


This sauce recipe makes a good sauce for fresh fruit or fruit with soured cream.

  • 1 teaspoon ground black pepper
  • ¼ cup (60ml) water
  • ¼ cup (60ml) sugar
  • 1 teaspoon lemon juice

Combine pepper, water, sugar and lemon in saucepan and heat slowly until the sugar dissolves and the mixture is a light-brown colour. Remove from heat and let cool.
