Bread Sauce


Easy to make sauce recipe. You’ll be surprise how tasty this sauce is.

  • 100g soft white breadcrumbs
  • 50g butter
  • 2 onions (peeled and stuck with cloves)
  • Salt
  • Ground pepper
  • 2 pinches ground cloves
  • 100ml double cream

Put the breadcrumbs, onions, butter and cloves into a saucepan and bring to the boil. Add salt and pepper to taste. Cover and simmer gently on a very low heat for about 20 minutes. Remove the onion and add the double cream, just before serving. If the sauce is too thick, add a little milk. Correct the seasoning and serve hot.
