Lemon Curd Sauce


Lemon curd sauce recipe is a custard-like dessert sauce which goes well with scones, short breads, and muffins.

  • 120ml freshly squeezed lemon juice
  • 2 tablespoons freshly grated lemon zest
  • 80g sugar
  • 3 eggs
  • 90g of unsalted butter
  • Pinch of salt

Put eggs, zest, sugar, and salt into saucepan and whisk until frothy and light in colour. Add lemon juice and butter. Set pan on stove burner, turn on heat to medium-to-low, and continue whisking until butter melts and mixture thickens. Do not let mixture boil.

Set strainer over bowl and pour mixture into strainer, removing all of the mixture with spatula. Pour mixture into jar and refrigerate to thicken.
