Marinara Sauce

This sauce recipe is easy to make and is great with any kind of pasta, or on toast and pizzas.

  • ¼ cup of olive oil
  • clove of garlic
  • 1kg chopped tomatoes
  • 1 handful basil leaves (chopped)
  • onion (chopped)
  • ½ teaspoon sugar
  • salt and pepper to taste
  • water (optional)

Heat the olive oil in a large saucepan and add a thin slice of garlic. Once the garlic starts to turn brown, remove it from the oil and discard.

Crush the tomatoes and add their juices. Add some water (optional), basil, onion, salt, and pepper. Bring to a boil and cook until thickened.
